Exhibits in Brazil and internationally since the 1980s. Multimedia artist, her works touch on topics such as violence, sex and death.<\/p>\n<p><em>Sambashiva \u2013 The Photographs of Sambasiva Rao Patchineelam,\u00a0<\/em>by Vijai Patchineelam: a research project within the photographic archive of scientist Sambasiva Rao Patchineelam, aiming at the publication of an artist&#8217;s book discussing issues like authorship, editing and image appropriation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vijai Patchineelam <\/strong>(Niter\u00f3i\/RJ &#8211; 1983)<\/p>\n<p>PhD by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Antwerp) in 2016, graduated\u00a0in industrial design by Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2007. Participated in many group and solo exhibitions, besides residencies in Brazil and internationally. His work combines photography, video and publications.<\/p>\n<p>Besides each project&#8217;s artistic quality,\u00a0the jury also evaluated the candidates&#8217; qualifications and the practical feasibility of their proposal. This year, the grant received 819 projects from every region in Brazil, besides material sent by Brazilians living outside the country.<\/p>\n<p>The goal\u00a0of this grant is to foment the work of photographers and artists in the photography field, in its most diverse branches, with no restriction of theme, profile or support. Each selected participant will receive a R$ 65,000 grant and will have eight months to develop their work.
